Mussel boat O Grove

From the harbor of O Grove, we’ll embark on a wonderful boat trip across the calm waters of the Arousa estuary. Aboard a modern vessel with underwater vision, you’ll have the chance to admire the seabed and observe the marine life that thrives beneath the surface.

As we sail along, we’ll come across the wooden platforms known as bateas, where mussels, oysters and scallops are cultivated. Our guide will explain the entire process while the ropes are lifted so you can see firsthand how these treasures of the Galician sea are grown. It’s a fascinating experience, and perfect to enjoy with family or friends.

Through the underwater windows, you’ll get a close-up view of the marine ecosystem that makes this estuary so special. The crystal-clear summer waters reveal countless species, and from the deck, you’ll enjoy magnificent views of Cambados, Ribeira, Arousa Island and the famous La Toja Island, all of them coastal gems full of charm and tradition.

To finish the journey in true Galician style, we’ll enjoy a tasting of freshly cooked mussels, paired with Galician wine or a soft drink, while taking in the views of the sea. And if we’re lucky, playful dolphins might join us along the way, the perfect ending to an unforgettable day on the Arousa estuary.
