This Rías Baixas Tour from Santiago will take you to discover some of the most beautiful landscapes of Galicia, some very characteristic and others less known but equally captivating. Throughout the day we will enjoy the rich cultural and natural heritage of these lands, as well as its exceptional gastronomy.
We will make our first stop in Pontevedra. Its old town is one of the best preserved in Galicia, and is full of charm.
We will walk through the Plaza de la Leña and the Plaza de la Verdura, and visit some of the most important monuments of the city, such as the Church of the Pilgrim Virgin, an icon of the city, or the Basilica of Santa María la Mayor, with its impressive Plateresque façade.
After leaving the city of Pontevedra, we will continue to Combarro, a beautiful and picturesque fishing village. You’ll love strolling through its historic centre with its cobbled streets, admiring the cruceiros and hórreos, strolling along the promenade… Here there will be free time to have lunch and enjoy the exceptional gastronomic offer of the area.
Our next visit takes us to the beach of A Lanzada, famous for its wild beauty, its rich landscape and also for the miraculous properties attributed to its waters, which have given rise to countless legends.
Near the beach is the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de A Lanzada, a Romanesque work dating from the 12th century, which we will also visit. The tower of A Lanzada, which is the remains of a medieval fortress from the 10th century, and the Roman necropolis complete the ensemble.
And the last stop will be in Cambados. As well as being the capital of Albariño wine, Cambados is famous for its rich history and stately architecture. In the town centre, in the Plaza de Fefiñáns, we will admire the majestic Renaissance palace of the same name. You will fall in love with the cobbled streets and traditional houses of this little fishing village.
After visiting Cambados, our tour of Rías Baixas comes to an end. Arrival time in Santiago de Compostela is at 19.30.
